TRADE ACQUISITION GUIDE

Just as advisors thoughtfully guide their clients in building meaningful collections, artists also consider how and where their work is placed. We ask trade collaborators to share relevant client details at the outset.

REQUESTED INFORMATION

The following info is required before sharing individual artwork pricing and availability.

  1. Client’s full name(s)

  2. Client’s professional and/or personal context

(e.g., a simple identifier like profession—not your relationship to the client)

  3. City of artwork placement

  4. Artwork budget range

  5. For corporate or public placements, details about the property are also required.

FAQ

  • This information helps the studio confirm the legitimacy of each inquiry, ensure the responsible handling of the work, and support thoughtful, long-term placements.

This process is applied uniformly to all inquiries and is administered in a consistent and non-discriminatory manner. The requested information is used solely to assess project feasibility, placement context, and stewardship considerations, and is not used to evaluate personal identity or unrelated individual characteristics.

All information shared is kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of reviewing and responding to acquisition inquiries.

Please read Mimi’s personal note below for further clarification.

  • The studio is only able to respond to inquiries that include all requested information.

Partial responses such as “flexible budget” or “clients are private” unfortunately do not provide enough context for us to move forward.

  • We ask for a target budget range specifically for Mimi’s work, rather than the overall project budget.

Sharing a general range helps establish alignment and allows the conversation to proceed with intent, clarity and respect for everyone’s time.

Budgets described as “flexible budget,” “would like pricing first,” or “can go up” do not provide sufficient clarity for us to share relevant options.

If your budget is still being considered, please take the time you need—we’re happy to reconnect once you’re ready.

  • No, it does not. Our one-price policy ensures consistent pricing for all collectors, regardless of background or representation.

  • Mimi does not prioritize placement based on the prominence of a collection, rather, she seeks to work with collectors who have a genuine and personal connection to the work.

  • Commission inquiries are reviewed only after all requested information has been provided. This ensures we can determine alignment before sharing further details, including pricing.

Commissions are limited to large-scale work and are subject to strict parameters, including series eligibility, scale, timeline, and other criteria. Not all commission inquiries proceed, and pricing and process details are shared only once feasibility has been established.

PRICING

ONE-PRICE POLICY

Mimi Jung has consistently upheld a strict one-price policy throughout her career, advocating that an individual's position or influence should not affect the pricing of an artist's work. As a result, each artwork is assigned a single price, ensuring fairness and equality for all collectors.

TRADE DISCOUNTS

Mimi Jung greatly values the expertise of trade professionals and believes they should be fairly compensated—directly by their clients. Therefore, she does not offer trade discounts. This policy preserves the integrity of the artwork’s pricing and ensures the artist is compensated in full.

NOTE FROM MIMI

My work is a record of 44 years of lived experience. When a piece leaves my studio, a part of me goes with it. For that reason, each placement is approached personally and with intention.

You may already know a lot about me, if not, I share moments of my life with my husband and dogs on our rural Montana property through my IG stories, and my background and professional history live in my artist statement and CV

Even as a private and introverted person, I will do my best to answer questions that fall outside those public spaces. Thank you for taking the time to read—if you’re open to it, I’d love to hear a bit about your client.

With thanks,
Mimi Jung
